We host several major fund raisers throughout the year , including a polo tournament, walk-a-thon, bake-a-thons, beer & dance club, and several smaller venues. We regularly offer chow / shar-pei obedience training clinics, Canine Good Citizen certification clinics,throughout the Summer months. In 2011, we were there for 20 Paws R Us Rescues, 67 School Bus Chows, and more than 25 Chows and Shar-pei from various deathrow shelters across the nation! It's been a big year for us, and we have been able to do it because of supporters like you. Thank you!

This is a ONE time charge only

Most of our candidates are dumped by their owners because of entropian, behavioural issues or some other breed specific ailment - or - unfortunately are survivors of puppy mill raids, or are found still alive after having been used for bait or for firghting. ( especially in the case of shar-pei). Chows are often found abandoned outdoors, tied to sheds, or outbuildings left there to die. It is extremely rare that animal are abandoned for no distinct reason and even if they are 99% of the dogs who arrive here are not sterilized and/or have no records of innoculations and of that 99% - over 70% have other pressing medical problems that need to be addressed..

Offering rescue dogs quality medical care for re-habilitation, vaccinations , sterilization and and corrective surgery costs money.
The average rescue chow or pei who arrives here and receives the above three treatments costs us a minimum of $1200.00 to:

- vaccinate
- sterilize
- repair entropian
- a blood test to rule out hidden illnesses

- All obedience and/or specialty training is provided us free of charge.

In general our batting average has been:

1% of all intakes are puppies

1% of all intakes are sterilized and have shots.

88% of all intakes are not sterilized and do not have shots and have entropian issues or some other breed specific issue. Of this 80% over 25% endure some form of blindness.

10% are either senior, too psychologically damaged, or too gravely ill and considered non-adoptable. These dogs received required medical care and go into permanent fostering and do not get adopted out.

This does not include other illnesses, ( parasite treatments, Amyloid, kidney failuire, pulled cruicates, food, medicines, follow up treatments or any other requirements, collars, leashes, food bowls, clothing, blankets, towels, javex, lactated ringers, ).

Without continued support we cannot act on behalf of any of our rescue candidates. We regularly host Walk-a-thons, Bake Sales, Commuity Meetups, offer dog training clinics, more. We vend homemade giftware, puzzles, and other oggetti to help finance our cause. Consider joining our newsletter to keep abreast of our next fund raising effort in your area.
