Meet Miss June Bug, our newest addition. Like so many chows, June Bug was a "throwaway" chow, rescued from a puppy mill, she never learned about humans, sociailization or how to live in the world around her. This makes her essentially; "unadoptable". Follow the progress and exploits of Miss June Bug as we get her ready to meet her new world head on with new tools in her toolbox. Rita Meuller ( Toronto ) Charged With Animal Cruelty

Hats off to Toronto Animal Services for following up on the gruesome death of Henry, t he Chinese Shar-Pei who was strangled by Rita Meuller during a visit to their facility.
Rita Mueller, 50, was wanted in connection with the death of a dog at Toronto Animal Services in August. Mueller, who owns Scooby's Dog House and Rescue, was convicted of unrelated animal cruelty charges in September.

OVER 70 chows and 20 shar-pei came knocking on our door between last November and this May.
That's a lot of cries for help, but together with the help of the chow chow & shar-pei dog owner community, we were there to meet the challenge! We need more Rescues in Eastern Canada!!
We have to thank the chow and shar-pei community at large for their phenomenal support last year.
Without it we would not have been able to help as many rescues as we did!

Spring is nearby, but it is still cold out there, and all of the chow pei are just itching to run, jump and play!
What a great idea to get together with chow pei friends and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate indoors while our chowdren and peidren enjoy some good times together.

We've started our New Year off with such a rescue kick , we don't even know where to begin.
The end of December saw the seizure and release of over 600 rescue dogs from the Paws R Us puppy mill in Quebec.
