Cracker - Entry May 27 - 2012
Print    Email

Cracker is a new arrival here at MH.  She comes from Cambridge, Ontario and it is clear that she was repeatedly used for breeding purposes.

BELOW:  ORIENTATION

As always, our therpy shar-pei, Miss Xiao-Mei, welcomes all new arrivals with her wonderful wit and charm. Orientation went very well, and we can see that Cracker is accepting of other dogs around her.

Eventually Cracker got to meet all the other dogs here and the work begins.

 BELOW: Bath Time

First up... clean up time. Flea and tick treatment. Clean up her skin and coat. That will surely help her to feel and smell a whole lot better! Little Cracker wasn't too impressed with all the soap suds and the handling. She could have opted to bite me at any time, and didn't. She's got a fantastic personality.

Little Cracker is not in great shape.  She has some kind of rope burn under her chin, her coat is significant of living in squalor and filth, she has entropian in both eyes, and mostly likely a urinary infection. This is what we can visually see with our own eyes. Blood work will tell us more. She goes to the vet for her spay and entropian surgery this coming week.

BELOW:  Good Nutrition fixes many ailments!

We all know that good nutrition is key for virtually any type of re-habilitation!  Cracker had no trouble eating her most likely first ever raw meal of raw eggs with porks and liver. She scarfed it down like there was no tomorrow

Not to worry though little girl. We'll take great care of you, fix you up everywhere and fine you a perfect, forever home!

Stay tuned for more. At least she has some new friends who all have similar stories to swap with her  :)
